On a Whim is a band is a trio specializing in traditional and Celtic music spanning several countries from Scandinavia to the British Isles. On a Whim band is comprised of fiddles, guitar, and other instruments. We will likely feature tunes you have never heard before! We will transport you to the simpler times of the rural countryside through music.

Kate Hutchens
Kate Hutchens is passionate about Irish and Scottish fiddle music and is also leaning the Irish cocertina. Kate has been playing irish fiddle since she was 7 years old and has never lost enjoyment of playing.
Sanja Zelen
Sanja Zelen has been playing violin since the age of 7, starting off classical and diving into Celtic music many years later in 2023. She first discovered her love of Celtic music in an Irish dance class in college, and has grown that love through open jams and dances (ceilis) in Portland, Salem, and Bend. She grew up in the PNW and spends most of her time outdoors when she isn’t playing music.
Sandra Peevers
Sandra Peevers is a lifelong guitar player adding mandolin, tin whistle and ukelele in recent years. She has also produced concerts, represented performing artists, taught music and played concerts and dances through the years. She teaches at Cascade School of Music, for MusicFlow, Sisters Folk Festival Presents and privately.
